Christianity is a set of beliefs and practices centered around the figure of Jesus Christ. There exists a wide variety of denominations by which claim to exist within the umbrella of Christianity.
The term "Christian" was originally used as a mockery of the early disciples of Jesus Christ, saying that they are like "little Christs". However, those in the Early Church began to appreciate this term and use it to describe themselves.
